Hands Around Egleston

Hands Around Egleston was a huge success! Urban Edge organized this event in order to bring peace and unity to the community. This historic annual celebration always showcased young people engaged in positive activities to counter the negative influences of drug and gang activity. This event is known to bring the community together, and was seen as a “taking back of the streets” from violence. Delphine Walker, a fearless leader in the community, was the found of this event led with Father Jack Roussin and lead “Take Back the Streets” processions in Egleston Square.

Urban Edge revived this event to continue a legacy, and remind the community that we’re in this together.

Thank you to all those who participated!
