(Boston, MA) February 26, 2024 – Urban Edge announced today the appointment of two new members to the organization’s leadership team: Michelle Goldberg was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Bill Brauner as Director of Real Estate. These positions support the continued mission of Urban Edge to strengthen communities across Boston, build economic resiliency for families, amplify community voices, and develop affordable housing.
As Chief Financial Officer for Urban Edge, Michelle Goldberg will work directly with Emilio Dorcely, CEO, and be an integral member of the organization’s leadership team. In her role, Michelle will manage and oversee real estate asset management and fiscal operations, provide executive administrative leadership and support, and act as a liaison to the Board’s Financial Committee. With nearly 20 years of leadership experience in finance, she was most recently the Director of Finance and Chief Procurement Officer for the Boston Planning & Development Agency.
“I am thrilled to be joining Urban Edge and support the organization to help advance their mission of promoting sustainable and affordable development,” said Michelle Goldberg, CFO of Urban Edge. “Throughout my career in the real estate development and public sector finance sectors, I have believed that operating from a people-centered view is key to advancing our communities. As Urban Edge looks to the years ahead, I look forward to being a part of the mission-driven work transforming the neighborhoods of Boston.”
Sal Bosco, former CFO, led Urban Edge’s financial operations with exceptional skill and dedication over the last 15 years. During the transition period, he will remain as Senior Vice President prior to his retirement.
Bill Brauner, Director of Real Estate at Urban Edge, will supervise the real estate team and oversee the development of all projects. In his role, Brauner will work closely with other Urban Edge staff to pursue new real estate opportunities, secure City and State financing, create efficient, high-quality buildings, and oversee construction efforts. Brauner was previously the Director of Housing Development and Preservation with the Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation and has over 30 years of experience working with nonprofit housing agencies.
“Urban Edge has an exciting portfolio of new construction, residential and mixed-use development projects, and ongoing renovations to existing housing units. As Boston continues to address the need for more accessible housing, I’m proud to be joining an organization that directly responds to this critical need,” said Bill Bauner, Director of Real Estate. “I look forward to bringing my affordable housing experience to a team that is so passionate about their work and creating more equity in the communities we call home.”
“We are so pleased to welcome Michelle and Bill to our team and look forward to the leadership they both bring,” said Emilio Dorcely, CEO of Urban Edge. “As we celebrate a milestone of 50 years of Urban Edge, we cannot help but be excited about the direction the organization continues to move in as we set new goals and milestones to reach.
